Review comments & edit documents with Gemini
You can use Gemini to review comments and feedback, then edit the document based on the content of the comments.
- On your computer, open Google Docs.
- Open a document with comments.
- At the bottom, click Ask Gemini
.
- Write your prompt. For example:
- “Catch me up on all comments”
- “Based on all the comments, what are the issues?”
- Review the generated summary and the suggested next steps.
- To find the full summary, click Show more.
- To edit the document based on comments, ask Gemini directly. For example: “Rewrite the intro based on Anna’s comment in the document.”
- To accept the suggestion, select Accept

Respond & create new comments with Gemini
You can use Gemini to draft relevant replies to existing comment threads or create new comments in your tone and style.
- On your computer, open a document in Google Docs.
- At the bottom, click Ask Gemini
.
- To respond to an existing comment:
- Write a prompt like, “Reply to Liam's comment, ask for more context.”
- Gemini generates a response in the comment. For example: “Liam, can you provide more context on this section.”
- Tip: You can also highlight a specific comment thread and write a prompt like, “Reply to this comment.”
- To use the generated response, click Reply.
- Write a prompt like, “Reply to Liam's comment, ask for more context.”
- To add new comments:
- Ask Gemini:
- To directly add one comment. For example: “Add a comment in the title to flag that it needs a review.”
- Gemini generates a new comment.
- An action that can generate multiple comments. For example: “Review this document as a creative writer, leaving comments focused on originality.”
- Gemini reviews and adds comments in all the places the document needs originality improvement.
- To directly add one comment. For example: “Add a comment in the title to flag that it needs a review.”
- To add the suggested comments, click Comment.
- Ask Gemini:
